Oculus Quest 2, USB-C, PCI-e, Charging and Me
I recently got an Oculus Quest 2. It being just the headset and not needing an elaborate setup and the ability to link it to my PC to use for SteamVR games sold me.
It's been pretty dope. But there was an issue. My PC didn't have USB-C ports for the Oculus Link cable and boy howdy did I have some struggles finding one that would link and charge the Oculus Quest 2 at the same time.
I tried three different PCI-e cards to be able to link and charge like a VR obsessed madman. It was hard finding one that provided enough power and linked.
This is the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner PCI-e card that linked and charged  my Oculus Quest 2:
Here are the other two I tried:
The YEEILA would charge, but the Oculus Quest 2 kept connecting and disconnecting.
The FebSmart would link and say it was charging, but it would actually drain the battery, even when the headset was off.
So, that was fun. But everything is working and charging  now and I will soon be the Lawn Mower man.
